Is it possible to add an extension to the wiki that allows us to include
embeded videos?
Something like this:
http://www.barbosalima.adm.br/wiki/Usu%C3%A1rio:Paulo/V%C3%ADdeos

I'm unfortunately rather busy this week, so I hope one of the other
admins can jump in.

The basic question is:
What exactly is requested?
- hosting the video files themselves (and give the user the option to
download the original source, provide the option to add substitles in
various languages, etc.)
or
- just embedd videos from youtube, myvideo, vimeo,..

For the first option, I'd probably go with
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:TimedMediaHandler
..
One option would be to allow the embed tag with the hack shown at
https://entropia.de/Entropia:Flash_einbetten,

Nah, that opens the door to all kinds of nasty stuff…..

but I think some
extension-based solution would be better, as the one above is just a
hack that has to be included after every upgrade.

Indeed.

Maybe one of the MediaWiki Widgets in the respective extensions allows
doing so. I'd prefer if we could use embedding, rather than uploading
videos to our own server.

For embedding, I'd probably go with
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Widgets and the corresponding
platform-specific widgets

ciao
Christian
