Would it not be more precise to say something like add {{OrigLang|}} to

Please also consider the case, that a set of translated pages does
not necessarily origin from an English page. In some cases the
English page is a translation of a page that was introduced in a
some other language. In some cases the English page may not even
exist as a page with content, but be a placeholder for page hierarchy.
However the English page *always* is the one without language suffix
like /fr /de /ru and so on. And the English page *always* is the one
carrying {{OrigLang|}}, whereas all other language pages carry
{{Lang|}}.
