Instead people come with new ideas (what is perfectly fine), but
instead of improving what is already there, implementing those new
ideas in an existing site, just create another copy that then has to
be configured from scratch again,

I've also said we need to focus and organize. I can only say to you, please
wait and be patient. We are on the right way :) Also, please, implement the
Silverstripe site and, when a more advanced Drupal site, ready to be tested
and not some proof of concept for specific "internal group" tasks
is announced we will very happy to hear about your observations.
