Hi Sam, hi all! :-)

Caolan, I felt free to add you as well ...

Sam, it seems that the idea evolves / stabilizes - still interested to
jump in and to make the find bar something even more awesome? :-) Would
be great!

I must admit, I can't make any promises that I'll be able to be useful
(my programming skills are kind of inept), but I am willing to try.
That's the only way to learn, right? :-)

That sounds wonderful ... and since I lack any C++ programming skills,
your knowledge simply adds 100%. And that's a good start, isn't it?

I think the find bar already has a button that links to the
find/replace dialog. We'd want to make that appear by default, and
then also automatically fill in the dialog with what was typed in the
find bar, correct?

Yep - along with some of the (hopefully more trivial) tweaks I've
mentioned in an earlier mail (names for the buttons, caption, ...). If
you consider it helpful, I will collect these proposals on a wiki page
(whiteboard section within the Design Team). What do you think?

@ Caolán: Thanks for pushing the patch ... since you've mentioned that
some changes might be "a little bit trickier", may we ask you for help
if we "run out of water"?

Thanks for your help, Christoph!

Wow, I think it's the other way round. You do make some more users
happy!

Cheers,
Christoph
