I think that is a fair idea.

The way to do this, I guess, would be to add an option in LibO's
installation, e.g.:

But for your idea: the best is to have a look at bugZilla if there already is an issue for this, where you might add your thoughts. And if not, create a new issue. See this page for info: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
