You could download it in a terminal instead, for instance, if you are using a Debian based distribution and you want to download version 24.8.7: wget " https://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/24.8.7/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_24.8.7_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz " You can see the progress while downloading, so you know when it's finished. You can then also extract it and install it directly from the same terminal. Or you can do like I did, write a Bash script the does the whole thing at once, including making it the default version and also download and install language specific packages.
