Noah -

I assume that by 'documents memory' you mean the 'Documents' folder in your home directory. You should be able to store your document in that folder, or in any other folder, by using File > Save As.
Please reply to the users@global.libreoffice.org list, not directly to me.

Thank you for the timely reply. What I meant is that
files I tried to save were not in _documents_ memory.
Additionally files of LibreOffice Writer that are in
_Recent Documents_ that are not in "Documents" are
not easily accessed to send in email. In fact to send
a file stored in "Recent Documents" is not possible.
Observe that File Open is not possible if the file is not
in Recent Documents. (if the file  is not there then
the file cannot be opened).
---> I tried storing Recent Documents into the storage
holding Word Pad, Word Pad did not accept them.

be possible to get a new copy of the LibreOffice Writer
program where some mistake I made has caused this?
Alternately, do you know of any word processors
capable of handling math symbols? (By math symbols
I mean the symbols in the table of omichron/omega)
---> Were it possible, would it  be possible to purchase
a Flash Drive with the LibreOffice Writer program
on it?

    I don't understand what's happening.

When you say 'not able to send documents', do you mean that you can't
send them because you can't find them, or that when you send them to
someone then that person doesn't see the math correctly?

I don't understand what you mean by storing a document 'within
    *Recent
Documents*'. Do you mean that you save a document, exit from Writer,
enter Writer again, and open the document from File > Recent
    Documents?
Can you not reopen the document using File > Open?

What do you mean by 'they get lost'? Do you mean that you can't
    find the
document, or do you mean that the math content within the document
    does
    not appear correctly?

As Robert Großkopf asked, if you create a PDF file using File >
    Export
As > Export as PDF, does the math appear correctly?
