Hello Harvey,

Whilst I've not encountered your specific issue (I've never had to
print
labels) I have seen the printer dialogue try and force a specific
orientation.
To overcome it, in the print dialogue, I go to "Properties" under the
printer selection drop-down, select (tick/check) "Use only paper size
from printer preferences" and then it's possible to change the print
orientation.
Worth a look, perhaps?

Thanks, Brad. I had already tried your solution and rejected it,
because it overwrote the page/label size adjustments I had to make in
the Label dialog. My problem is, however solved. The cause was indeed
the settings of page/label sizes in the Label dialog. The chosen values
had created a page width slightly above the A4 21 cm, which forced the
printer dialog to choose Landscape.
Thanks again for answering
Cheers
Harvey
