This post is for the benefit of the list archives and anyone who may be
experiencing a similar issue with LO.

A few months ago I posted to this list about an issue I was having with
slow/jerky mouse wheel scrolling, mainly with Writer. At last I have
discovered that there is a conflict between the LO scroll rendering
mechanism and Windows mouse wheel control programs. The control programs
add the missing Windows functionality to scroll a window or panel that
does not have the focus, which appears to be a standard feature of most
Linux distros. The very inconvenient workaround is to disable the mouse
wheel control program whenever working with LO and re-enable it for
every other program.

This conflict is exclusive to LO, since AOO, MSO and all other programs
on the same computer are totally unaffected.
