I have now performed more investigation into this unresolved bug, the
information may be useful to those producing PDFs of documents for
distribution where size is of some importance, it has forced us back to
the 5.0 series for our company. The effect is more noticeable the more
images are in the odt. The odt file producing these PDFs is about 22MB
The bug is the same on Win 7, 32 bit and opensuse x64.
Sizes on the PDF produced from the same document for various versions of
LO follows.
LO 5.0.6.3. PDF 2.5MB
LO 5.1.6.2.0+ PDF 6.3MB
LO 5.2.4.1 PDF 11MB

The export button use the settings on Menu/File/Export as pdf.
