No self - respecting robot would vote for either a Republican or a Democrat!  
I agree it would help to have the entire URL appear in the toolbar..
particularly needed is information to determine if url is https ftp ftps or
http etc not all servers use W3 standards. 

.  hiding things is the way government works,   today
your chances of finding a way to talk to a government employee
at work is about as likely as your chances of winning the lottery.

 No, the project intentionally keeps the OS and its Desktop
 Environment
 unencumbered--and we let the OS and DE do their thing.
