Just a quick point :

Hopefully others with an interest in having non-western word processing
better supported by LibreOffice Writer will chime in with comments and
suggestions, or at least indicate support for some attention in this area.

This is largely not how LibreOffice works. We don't have a democracy where
lots of users say "me too" and then point the finger to developers to say
"now you fix it." I'm not sure if this is what is being attempted but if
the hope is that this kind of a method will work - it almost undoubtedly
will fail and anyone reading this should understand that.

The options (like with any bug/enhancement request):

1) Fix it yourself;
2) Find a friend/family member/colleague to fix it;
3) Fund a fix (which in this case is likely to run into the tens of
thousands of dollars or more);
4) Wait patiently until a volunteer finds the issue interesting;
5) Wait patiently for a company or someone else to fund it;

In this particular case what *might* work is to look around the web for
grants that users can apply for on behalf of LibreOffice....this is just a
possibility that came to clue if such grants exist.
