Hi,
I followed Henri's recommendation and installed LO 4.2.0.4, Build ID: 420m0(Build:4).
The effect is that 4.2 gets started automatically instead of 4.1.3. On the other hand
I still get the "General Inupt/Output Error" message. This is not really a big problem
for me, all I have to do is close and restart it. It might have to do with the boot
sequence. Maybe not ALL files are accessible at the time LO is automatically started?
Regards
Heinrich

Hi )
4.2.0 is not stable branch. It does not become stable branch until it
reaches around .3 or .4 and that is several months away. The 4.1.x
branch has matured to that point and become worth considering stable
with it's 4.1.4.

The 4.2.0 is the feature-rich branch and has many new features well
worth taking for a test-drive, including a new internal back-end for
Base but more crucially important is it's massively upgraded
Accessibility features (for screen-readers and such)

Hello,
I installed LO 4.2 (without first getting rid of 4.1.3) under
Linux/Mint-Petra.
Now LO 4.1.3 keeps starting up automatically. When I then try to start
Base I
get the error-message "General I/O error". How can I disable the automatic
start
of 4.1.3? I DID disable it under "KDE-System->Settings", but it still
starts...

Heinric

Heinrich, if you don't mind using the Ubuntu-ised version, currently
4.2.0.4, Build ID: 420m0(Build:4), of the latest stable LibreOffice
release, you might want to consider installing the PPA, which works just as
well on Linux Mint (I'm using 64-bit Petra myself, with the Cinnamon
desktop) as it does on Ubuntu :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Installing the PPA should remove the earlier version of LibO, and clicking
the LibO icons in the menu (or on the panel, if you, like myself, place
them there) will then launch the latest version....

Please Report back and let us know how this works for you....

Henri
