Hi,
Yeah 6.3 word document is huge. Yes it is embedded into the word document
and I can´t copy it, to paste it into an external link. I don´t know
what to do because this semester, I only had one class and next semester I
will have about 10 classes. In my school, all professors will give
documents with embedded objects. Any other ideas?
Hi :)
6.3 Mb file is huge!! Does OLE mean embedded? Is it possible to just
link to an external file and keep the music outside of the document?

Tom :)

Hi Tom,
Increasing the memory didn't work. Libre office still crashes and I
can't
figure out why it does that when i click on the object. Also when i
turned off java and clicked on the object it then asked me to turn on
back
Java in libre office.
I can't send the actual word document because its too big, its 6.3mb and
at my school we can only send a maximum of 2mb. Also I don't know if
the
libre office mailing list would allow me to send attachments in
compressed
file formats. But it would be in 1mb parts. So anything else I can
try.
Since its a mp3 file that is in microsoft word document why won't libre
office just tell like rhythmbox to open the file or vlc player? Can i
set
such an option? Also libre office doesn't allow me to copy the ole
object
and paste it on my desktop so I can then try and open it with a program
like rhythmbox or vlc player. Is their a way i can enable such a
feature?
Since it keeps crashing libre office.
Hi :)
Perhaps increase the memory settings in
Tools - Options - Memory
Crashes used to be associated with java usage most of the time. Can
you try switching java off?
Tools - Options - Java/Advanced
and untick the tick-box at the top so that a "Java runtime
Environment" is not being used in LibreOffice. If you ever get an
error message asking for you to use java in LibreOffice then it should
be reasonably easy to tick the box again. Hardly anything needs java
now. It's only Base now and only then if it's using the internal
back-end.

Tom :)

Hi, how can i get libre office writer to work with "docx" file
formats
that contain OLE Objects with video or music. Mi profesora siempre
me
da
file word documents that contain OLE objects and when I click on them
they
don't work and Libre office just freezes and crashes. How can I get
them
to work and I have installed the libre office java plugin in
synaptic.
Sounds like a bug - can you provide a link to a test document?
Best,
Joel
