If you have solved the problem then you do not need to give us the document.  We just wanted to use 
it to see what the problem was and how to fix it.  You've already done that so we don't need it 
now. :)  lol

Thanks for the answer. Yes, this was the correct solution. Also thanks
for the pointer to the math guide.

The error probably comes from the fact that the document in question is
based on a *.doc template. However, I was not able to create a minimal
example just using libreoffice and an empty *.doc document.
Unfortunately I cannot provide the complete document, yet. Maybe after
it has been published.
