     What version of MySQL are you using? The answer to this determines 
what you should do and how.
     Tables and their data are kept within MySQL. Forms, queries, 
views, and reports are created within the Base file you use to connect 
to MySQL.
     Databases and schema must be created within MySQL. How this is 
done depends upon the answer to my first question. A database must be 
created first. Then the schema for the database are created second. 
After creating the schema, you can use Base to create the tables for the 
schema.
     You have probably heard the advice RTM (read the manual). Well, 
you need to get a manual for the version of MySQL that you are using.
      I use MySQL 5.5 and the program, Workbench, is what I use for all 
administrative tasks for MySQL. When I used MySQL 5.1, I used mysqladmin 
to do these things.
