Hi Kieran,
However, MS Access has formatting support - so why not LibO Base? If there
truly is no support for this, then this could be filed as an enhancement on
FDO (our bug tracker).
Probably because
- LO Base only inherited what limited formatting support was provided
through the OpenOffice.org project ;
- the limited formatting available for LONVARCHAR/MEMO fields in Forms
and Reports was only introduced relatively recently into the OOo
project, from memory about 6 or 7 years ago - the Sun/Oracle Base
developers never got around to having enough resources to go much
further with the idea ;
- the formatting attributes can not be stored in the database itself ;
- if you want to request an enhancement in the bugzilla database, be
prepared to muck in with code, as there are only very few Base
developers and they have other, higher priority, things to do.
