Hi :)
I'm not sure which website you are referring to; the wiki or the official site. Both are
currently ina state of flux.

The official site is moving to a newer layout but obviously they don't want to throw out everything
and start again from scratch because that would cut off access to tons of crucial things used by
people evey day. So, at the moment we kinda have 2 very different layouts during this
transistion/migration process.

The wiki is always in a state of flux and people are welcome to join in with helping smooth things
out a bit. Please try to join whichever team's section you want to work on and ask them before
making radical changes = or at least keep them informed.

So, it's a known issue and a fair comment. It's largely due to the rapid on-going expansion of the
community that once every couple of years a radical revamp is needed. The current confusions are
being worked on. I guuess we should do more to announce it next time and use it as positive
publicity.
Apols and regards from
Tom :)

Subject: [libreoffice-users] Text Outlining
To: users@global.libreoffice.org

One of the writers in the Windows
Secrets newsletter recently compared OO and LO to MS Office,
and I have to agree with him when he implied the LO web site
is somewhat disorganized and confusing. Thus, this posting
that is probably an enhancement request, but I can't find
anywhere else to do such a thing.

I've used OO and LO for several years, and have found very
little that I did in Office that I can't do now.  One
thing, though, is beyond the nuisance level but short of
being a game stopper.  I need the ability to outline
text within a paragraph.  I know a block of text can be
highlighted with a different background or foreground color,
but I need something that can actually be useful in a
printed document.  Sometimes underlining is
insufficient, because it's not distinguishable from other
underlined text.

As an example of what I want, just envision a box around
"what I want" in this sentence.  Obviously, outlining a
paragraph doesn't do the trick.

Anyway, that's what I'd like to see sometime -- or, if I'm
missing how to do it now, somebody please let me know!

Dave
