I notice that copying cells in Calc (LibreOffice and Ubuntu 12.04),
bumps up the CPU usage of Xorg from ~2% to > 12%. This level of CPU usage by
Xorg remains until the cells are deselected.

Google Docs has a better way. Cells that are just selected have a blue
border (but static). Cells that are selected for copying have an orange
border (but static). Xorg doesn't excited.

Does LibreOffice have an alternative to the use of marching ants at least
for Linux?
