Whatever "LO databases" means. The built-in bibliography is dBase and
does
not require any Java at all. Java_64 can not interface with a 32 bit
application.

Is it not the dbase module of LO that requires Java?

No, it isn't. Disable Java and every new database will be a dBase
directory (just like it used to be in OOo 1).

Really? Then why did some version of Java always come with OpenOffice.
And was required for 'something' (I thought it was the database module)
to work?

Anyhow, Java_64 can not interface with a 32 bit application.

I have had no problem using the x86_64 Java 6.0.x and later 7.0.x with
several 32 bit applications.

Just lucky I guess.
