Thank you everyone for your advice and comments.Your input was most helpful.
I did have the latest version of java installed so that was probably not
the issue.
Since I had had a problem with the 'Most recent .." issue I decided to
do a major reinstall since the problem was almost certainly profile
related. Since there was nothing magic in my profile, I had nothing to
lose by deleting the whole LO program. Using Revo Uninstall I did
exactly that. Then I did a full search of my drives for anything
LibreOffice related and removed those bits and pieces also.
I downloaded 5.2.2 again and installed and voila - all is well.
Thanks again for your help. My brute force approach does not show much
finesse but it worked for me. In the process I learned much from your input.
