FYI, 1 inch is exactly 2.54 cm. The inch was redefined in 1959 as derived from the metric system.

Just being pedantic :]

I set Writer to use points (instead of cm or inch) as measurements;
however, I cannot enter any number greater than 113.4pt in any field,
having to switch to cm whenever I need to use something greater.

just a notice : 113,4 pt = 2 cm. (There are 72 pts in an inch and an inch is ca. 2,54 cm).
