Hi :)
This guide usually helps people post a bug-report
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
Note that is a guide, not a set of 'law's or rules. It should help you get info together but if
you have trouble with it then just post what you can as you can always add extra comments or
attachments another day. Also the devs may not require everything listed in there for every
report. Anything they do need they can probably help you to get from your system.
Regards from
Tom :)

According to what Cor writes, I should not have any trouble opening my
file then, but I still fail. Seems like a bug to me then. I checked my
build number, it's 502 as well. Should this be filed as a bug report?
I'd do it myself if anybody can give me a short guidance how and where
to.

But you are (should be) able to open files saved with password in 3.4.4

Also are (you should) be able to open files saved with encryption in
3.5.0 in 3.4.5.
Only thing is that you cannot open files saved with password in 3.5.0
(and later) in 3.4.4 and earlier. 3.4.5 is the intermediate version.
I'm running 3.4.5 build 502 on my Ubuntu 32 bit 11.10. I also discovered
today
that I cannot open an old password protected file and I cannot save new
password
protected files. So I have the same problem. I had to transfer the file to
another system with a 3.2 version of OpenOffice to open it. Quite a scare
there
for a while.
Thanks!
