Only thing is that you cannot open files saved with password in 3.5.0
(and later) in 3.4.4 and earlier. 3.4.5 is the intermediate version.
I'm running 3.4.5 build 502 on my Ubuntu 32 bit 11.10. I also discovered today
that I cannot open an old password protected file and I cannot save new password
protected files. So I have the same problem. I had to transfer the file to
another system with a 3.2 version of OpenOffice to open it. Quite a scare there
for a while.
