Hi :)
Good work Alex! Thanks for checking those and more importantly for giving the link. I had forgotten until yday and then got swept up in doing a newsletter at work.
The ones you did for the Extensions site were a huge improvement on the connectors available elsewhere so maybe the Windows one that you put there works.
Hopefully the devs might start noticing Base a bit more one day. The official BoD position on Base is to sit&wait until people naturally drift over to it.
I have tried arguing for actively promoting Base to get communities such as the MariaDb people interested in making a connector or even diving into the main code, perhaps setting an emailing list to keep the people working on different aspects of Base to gain advice and suggestions from each other rather than feeling isolated and forced into making decisions on their own without the support of the community. All the ideas have been rejected in favour of a policy of sit&wait. A few individuals have made efforts and the PostgreSql people seem to have had the most success but there have been promises from individuals in other communities too.
Many thanks and regards from
Tom :)
PS Happy Christmas.

Hi all,
Hi :)
If the connector is working on other branches of LibreOffice but just not on the 3.5.x branch then
perhaps posting a bug-report against Base might help?

The connector works (or at least until someone tells me otherwise) on
both _Mac_ and _Linux_32bit_ with 3.5 if you download it from here :
http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/mysql-native-connector-for-mac-osx/releases/1.0.1
I can not build one for Windows, because :
(1) I do not have a Windows machine I can use to build the connector on
(which requires building most of LibreOffice to get it)
(2) I would be incapable of fixing any build problems I might encounter
on the Windows platform.
I asked on the developer list 2 days ago whether one of the buildbot
machine maintainers would be prepared to build the connector, say, once
a month, but have had no reply.
