How do I stop Calc splitting words in two? For instance, it insists

still it happens.
That's because this is an AutoCorrect feature.
To switch replacement off completely, go to Tools | AutoCorrect
Options... | Options and remove the tick(s) from "Use replacement table".
More sensibly, disable just the autocorrection you dislike:
o Go to Tools | AutoCorrect Options... | Replace.
o Scroll down to and select the line showing "fora" and "for a".
o Click Delete.
Note that another technique is to go to Edit | Undo (or Ctrl+Z)
immediately the AutoCorrect happens: this will remove the
autocorrection but keep your typing.
Oh, and another workaround is to use the plural "forums" instead!
I trust this helps.
