I created a document by creating three new heading H1 (linked to heading1),
H2 (linked to heading2) and H3 (linked to heading3). After the document is
done, i tried adding chapter name and number as header. But nothing appears.


If I understand you want:

1 Heading 1
text
2 heading 2
text
3 heading 3

To achieve, move the cursor to a heading, then apply function 'bullets
and numbering' and make changes in the dialogue window. Just realised
that this is not natural behaviour; in LaTeX this is far easier with
'\section{}'. Interestingly, in the 'styles' dialogue window, it does
not seem possible to apply numbering (the option is greyed out) to
headers, but to text?
