I am having the same problem with Read Error replacing my graphics in Writer
since switching to LO. I am using native ODT format. The images are actually
lost from the data, 8 MB file becomes 1 MB file.

Initially we thought this was related to errors caused by MAC users. We did
some testing and saved the file under Mac LO, saved, then opened in the same
version with Windows LO. The images were present, then at some point they
were replaced with Read Error.

The file is located on a QNAP NAS.

I will keep trying to pin down the circumstances that trigger it. My initial
thoughts were also leading me to a corruption during autosave. I also
disconnected my computer (physically) from the network while editing for
some equipment configuration. This might also triggered the bug.
