2011/10/17 Gordon Burgess-Parker <gbplinux@gmail.com>:
Has anyone noticed this?
I have two machines - both Toshiba, one a Satellite L40 with duo core twin
processors @ 1.6 GHz running Windows 7 SP1, the other a Netbook NB100 with
one processor @ 1.6 GHz running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
Both machines have 2GB RAM.
Both machines running LO 3.4.3, with the memory option in both instances set
at 132 MB for LO and 32 MB per object. Quickstarter is NOT enabled on
either.
Observed results:
Windows 7 Ubuntu
Opening blank Calc document from Calc icon: 13 secs
7 secs
Opening an identical Calc document 30 secs
18 secs
Why is it a surprise that a program runs slower on Windows 7 than on Ubuntu?
