Hi,

Have you tried Ctrl+Shift+ArrowKey?

The problem is not about being able to select a range of cells it is merely to move down to a
certain cell which reference has to be inserted into a formula. I have not tried, but I assume that
if Crtl+Down does not behave properly then Ctrl+Shift+Down won't (I'm sorry I forgot to bring my
laptop's power supply with me today so I won't be able to test Ctrl+Shift+Down today nor to send
you the *.ods file - which could have made things easier).

In my case, I would like to create a plot of speed against position. I have some position values in
column A and speed values in column B (let's say from cell B2 to B100), but I want to create a
column D which cells will be equal to the speed of column B divided by a number I manually inputed
in cell B102, for instance "=B2/$B$102" (though it is true that I could have been smarter to put
this value somewhere else than at the bottom of the document). So, I start by selecting Cell D2, I
enter formula "=B2/", then move the cursor from D2 to B2 using the left arrow key and eventually
hit Ctrl+Down which, surprisingly enough, leads me directly to B541654 (or whatever) instead of
B100.

By the way, I already checked that this behavior could be reproduced with a new file, and thus, it
is not related only to the file I was working on but also works for any other file.

I guess I will be opening a bug issue on freedesktop very soon. Please tell me if you are able to
reproduce it in your environment first.

Cheers,

Gael

You are right, Ctrl+ArrowKey is enough, my mistake.

Ctrl+ArrowKey works this way for me too, except when I am editing a formula and want to add a
cell's reference, in which case it brings the cursor directly to the first/last coloumn/line of
the document.

Have you tried Ctrl+Shift+ArrowKey?

Stephan
