Thanks :)  I found a note about 
MSVCR90.dll 
driver on the "System Requirements" page 
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/system-requirements/
but it seems to go to the wrong address on the microsoft website which wants
you to download 
vcredist_x86.exe
a search for the driver on their site (using Bing) gave nothing too so it
was good to be able to pass on your link

which was really useful :)
