How are you creating the polygons?  From the shapes listed on the shape 
"taskbar" which is at the bottom of the screen layout?  I have "Drawing" 
checked in the View>Toolbars.

I created a 6 sided poly and printed it out via Cups-PDF.  It printed 
just fine with 3.4.1 on 64-bit Ubuntu/Debian version.  It also printed 
fine with Export to PDF.
