It may not be an application problem. When I had this problem, it was specific to certain document
types, but eventually I found that it was not directly related to NeoOffice. It appears to have
something to do with interpreting paths within the OS and/or identifying file types. That is, it
was the manner in which the OS was passing the file to the app that was "broken."

Can you open these documents with the File...Open command? I could. I just couldn't open by
double-click from shared storage. Can you open with Word or WordPad or other document editor?
Does the extension and type matter? In other words, is it only ".doc" format files or does this
effect ".xls" and other file types?

Cheers,
              tod

I've tried:

http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.3.2/win/x86/

- LibO_3.3.2_Win_x86_install_multi.exe
- BrOffice_3.3.2_Win_x86_install_all_lang.exe

Both have same behaviour.
