Hi :)

When you re-install LibreOffice notice on about the last screen there are
tick-boxes to set LibreOffice as your default Office Suite. You probably want
to UNtick them so that MS Office continues to be used most of the time. You
will have to right-click on the website files and then choose LibreOffice or
"Writer" to open them in LibreOffice.

Alternatively, if you have already installed LibreOffice then you might try
right-click on a Word document and choose to have it opened by MS Word by
default.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

I actually decided to restart the computer right before I got your response,
and that seems to have fixed the problem - MS Office works just fine now.
The restart probably "auto-cleared" a cache somewhere. Crisis averted!

Now that I know that the problem is "fixable," I may try re-installing
LibreOffice to see if it will coexist peacefully with Word after a
post-install restart. I will update to let y'all know if it works.

For the sake of "full-disclosure," this occurred with Windows 7 (64-bit) and
Microsoft Office 2007.

Thank you for the quick reply!

Hi :)
1. Try emptying your wastebin
2. Then empty the deleted files in your email program
3. In your web-browser try Tools - Privacy - clear temp files cache and
all
that

4. "Start" button - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Clear
Disk
Space

2 & 3 can be swapped around if you like. 1 is the fastest way to free-up
a
little space so that the other options work. The "Clear Disk Space" might
be
called something slightly different and takes ages to scan you drives.
You
might want to scroll trhough and untick some of the options and perhaps
tick
others. For example it might be wise not to delete set-up files in some
cases.

Windows uninstallers don't always do a great job and need a bit of help
sometimes.
Please let us know how this goes
Good luck and regards from

Subject: [libreoffice-users] MS Word "broken" after LibreOffice install?

I installed LibreOffice because it was the preferred/supported program for
uploading text documents to a website I frequent. However, now I can no
longer use MS Word.

Immediately upon opening MS Word, I receive an error message: "There is
insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the requested
font."

Once I hit "OKAY" and access a blank Word document, if I attempt to type
anything, another error pops up saying "Word has encountered a problem.
You
will not be able to undo this action once it is completed. Do you want to
continue?"

If I select "NO" in response to that error, I then receive a message
stating
"There are too many edits in this document. This operation will be
incomplete. Save your work."

I have uninstalled LibreOffice, and this is still occurring. Any
assistance
would be greatly appreciated.
