Hi,
Just FYI. I have the latest of both OO and LO installed on my iMAC G5 (OSX 10.6.6) without any
problems. LO did not uninstall OO nor do I recall it offering to do so. I'm still trying to
decide which suite to use.

Hi,
I noted that the simple sequence of
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libreoffice
sudo apt-get install libreoffice-gnome
did not work as described on numerous websites.
All indications suggested that LO would uninstall OO but this did not happen. I kept getting
complains regading unfulfilled dependencies that did not make sense.
I eventually used synaptic to remove all packages that were labelled as OpenOffice then tried
again. It worked after doing this and was installed within 15 minutes.
I use Ubuntu 10.04 LTR and had latest OO
