Hello everyone,
We had an off-list discussion with Florian and others about the various
events that we organize or attend for LibreOffice and TDF.
We're not speaking about the LibreOffice Conference here, but all the
events where we, the community, speak, man a booth, hand out brochures,
DVDs or any other goodies for LibreOffice. Right now you will see that
we promote the LibreOffice hackfest in Freiburg, but our point was,
maybe you are having a hackfest or an event we don't know about!
Florian and I came to the conclusion that we need to advertise these
events more, whether we organize them or attend them. We are usually
happy when people post a short post here with maybe a link to a blog
discussing the event. But we need more, and we'd like to promote this
for the benefit and the awareness of the community, and ultimately for
the outside perception.
I recently mentioned the OpenWorldForum where TDF had a booth and I'm
eagerly waiting for the pics and the vids. But if you have any local
event you'd like to promote (and have pics or any other materials,
please push this, on this list, on social networks, on Twitter and
better yet: please ask here to have it referenced on the official blog.
Any suggestion is welcome - if you think we're missing the point,
please discuss.
Thanks!
