I noticed after the fact. I've asked them if they have a similar
offering for German organizations. If not, it would still be only 1%,

Quite a bit. I'd suggest looking up for:
- local Meetup.com groups
- companies/providers listed at http://coinmap.org (based on
OpenStreetMap) ~30 new / week
- thebitcoincatalog.com (their PDF is free to download and they have a
good list)

The list goies on, another place to look for news is
http://reddit.com/r/bitcoin. Careful, it may cause dependency :)
