As a matter of fact there is an MSO version for Mac:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac

So we need to find better arguments than just saying "your documents won't
be compatible with X platform".

Hi,

I'd like to suggest creating a page with below content:

"If you send me office files, make sure they are crossplatform format.
This means: .PDF, .ODT, .ODS, .ODP. All of them can be made by free
program LibreOffice."

The page could be then linked in email signatures. I have something
similar in this mail, but it's worse then described concept. Because
it's only in polish and english. I'm not gonna write it in other
languages because it'd be nonsense.
Such page could check user data and shows message in user language with
LibreOffice download link in proper OS and lang. version.

What do You think?

How about not using the term "propaganda"?

That always feels negative to me, like the "Nazi propaganda".

Yes, though, we need some way to help people get into the idea of using
"crossplatform" formats. Just telling people that MSO has not put out a
version for MacOSX [besides Linux] and the Mac users will need to be able
to read these documents. . . . .

I do not remember if MS produced a version for Mac that included the XML
formats that started with MSO-2007.

Since Mac is the platform - over Windows - for most audio and visual
graphics and editing systems for users, there is a large professional
market there that needs to have access to these documents.
