Hi Stephen,

if i may be rude to ask your talking about unions in the uk?

from my experience in my country (malta) you usually need to know someone, or really kick their doors real hard to be heard, until i discovered that the EU wants every member state to be at least 50% OSS by 2020 if i am not mistaken, that's why now i use it as an excuse...

i have several Roman Cathlic schools interested, and possibly i am targeting the government and its handlers (the people that just stay in front of the camera and smile for PR).

and from my experience you need to know what level of technology talk the contact you have the meeting with understands, i usually keep it simple, as most are still new to computers or just know the basics...

Subject: [libreoffice-marketing] Approaching Labor Unions/Social Movement orgs

Hi everyone,

I am very new to list so I will start with an quick apology if this has
been discussed. Brief intro I am an activist in the Labor movement and
have come across numerous organizations who take the what is given to
them road of windows and OSX with Word. So I joined here to see what
ideas there are on approaching these organizations with material and
ease to switch to Libreoffice.

My initial thought is to obviously start locally in the regions one is
in and contacting local unions, however even as a member/activist I find
the initiation of the conversation to be a challenge and seek some types
of talking points or approaches people may suggest.

Sincerely
Stephen Mahood
