It's great to see that the LibreOffice download size will be 30
MBytes... if only that was true! ...
The sentence should have been "30 MB smaller than the previous one",
which is what I told him on the phone.
Yes sure, I think it was clear to everybody following the LibreOffice
development that you had said "reduced by 30 MBytes" while the
journalist understood "reduced to 30 MBytes".
By the way, provided he transcribed the rest accurately, I see big news
coming, like training and certification services managed by the Document
Foundation directly. This is definitely an important step.
This to me would be most welcomed services for everyone, and especially
from the TDF! +1
We are open to cooperation on certification if anyone thinks it will help.
Just a reminder for anyone that doesn't know. We are accredited by the UK
government national agency Ofqual for quality assurance in qualifications
and our IT User certificates are referenced to the European Qualifications
Framework and conform the the EU ECVET strategy. Our support infrastructure
is built on FOSS, LAMP stack and Drupal primarily and one of the reasons we
set up was to provide a business model to support FOSS and CC learning
without having to sell licenses. We have been building this for about 6
years now, it is a non-trivial task :-)
