"
Started today in Parliament was a conference entitled ""Parliament of the
Information Society"". MTI reported that in the opening address Zsolt Nitra,
the Secretary of State for National Development Ministry of ICT (among others)
spoke of the government's plans in this area.
The politician, among others, said it is preparing a government decree which
stipulates that in the government sector the Open Document Format, ODF, must be
used for electronic documents. This is the default format used by LibreOffice
and the OpenOffice.org office suites. The plans include the fact that open
source software must be made available to the public educational institutions.

The 2nd and 3rd paragraphs seem to be about wireless and broadband.

Subject: [libreoffice-marketing] public sector will use ODF in Hungary in the
future
Dear All,
I got a great news from Hungary.
On the 1st of June a conference has been held in the Hungarian Parliament,
called "The Parliement of Information Society". During the event Mr. Zsolt
Nyitrai, the state secreter of ITcommunication declared that the government is
working right now to come up with a law saying that the Hungarian public sector
will use ODF in the future, wich is the document format used by open source
office solutions, like LibreOffice, OpenOffice etc...
Here is a link (sad to say it is in hungarian):
http://itcafe.hu/hir/nyitrai_zsolt_odf_dokumentumformatum_hatarozat.html
hopefully I'll prepare an english version this week-end!
Best wishes to all of you!
