Hello Fabian

Well yes it does clear up misunderstandings. In the future we will issue
logos without "The Document Foundation" written on it for people who wish to
distribute tailored labels. My offer that you design the official label
still stands, however.

best,
Charles.

I'm sorry I am going to look and sound like this is criticism but as you
may
have heard we are working on a trademark policy.
I am unclear in fact whether you are designing something that can be
considered an official label for LibreOffice DVD or if it's just "your"
own
label.

- if you want it to be official then I would only suggest ou take away
your
name and just put "The Document Foundation" instead (btw, I don't like
the
font there, but that's just my personal taste). (this option is the
easiest
and it would mean we would have one official label now!)
- if it's just your label, we are coming up with a logo that does not
display "the Document Foundation " underneath the LibreOffice mention but
if
you can come up with one, then you're welcome to do so... :-)

Best,
Charles.
Hi Charles,

Thank you for your comments - don't be sorry! :) As I've mentioned
before this is for a very specific use and I am aware of other
developments regarding the trademark. Unfortunately I printed my labels
and put them on DVDs last night so these will go as-is.

I am not sure how else I can make clear this label (and DVD structure)
is my own other than the fact it's in my wiki space, has clear
attribution and licensing, and I have explained all the process to
create it publically.

I am following trademark developments closely and my label will change
accordingly either when I notice or when I am asked to (I have
subscribed relevant wiki pages too). I am not producing 3000 DVDs right
away! I am also limited by my own capacity to burn, print labels & stick
them on DVDs, manually. BTW I used the original fonts as indicated in
the branding page (which I had to trace back, translate licensing
information from Japanese and update in our own wiki).

Regarding my name, it's there precisely to indicate this is not
distributed by TDF and this production (~50 DVDs) will be
hand-distributed with a clear indication that I produced them myself (if
people don't get to read the whole text on the DVD). Of course I am also
promoting my services and bundling this with a (free) workshop.

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings. I also hope part of this
discussion is useful for other DVD distributors.

Cheers,
