Yes, hence the survey and data that people are so concerned about. We could probably do this
through the downloads page and counting country-specific downloads. I wouldn't be surprised if
Michael would have already accounted for this somewhere in the Drupal site.
I heard some years ago that Sun's strategy for promoting OOo was to focus on the developing
countries, for two primary reasons. The first, made obvious in these maps, is their large
populations and thus potential for huge new user bases. (The second was because they haven't
adopted any office suite yet, since computer use is low. Thus, they have much less inertia to
overcome.)
