geeky guys and gorgeous gals,
instead of volunteers etc for multi lingual tools especially the wiki- i
wonder if we can use google.com/translate 's excellent tool- cite them and
start creating the wiki asap.
interest in libreoffice is very very strong (this is india based)
Also on wish list- youtube 4-5 minutes tutorial for each seperate component
in libresuite.
AND a seperate section for Consultants- with some kind of table/hypothesis
sceanrio showing how much benefit libre can help save organizations
especially schools and universities.
have we got any university partnerships yet for it.
out.

If we ever get a wiki going for the marketing group, which I believe

It is on the "to do" list and we discussed in the last days - people
stated a requirement that results in "single language wiki now" or
"multi language wiki a bit later". Still open, unfortunately.
And again thank to alle the people who are capable of handling such
mailing list stuff very well, provide summaries and are just nice. Thus,
bridging the gap until the infrastructure is available and works well
right from the start :-)
Cheers,
Christoph
Thanks for the help and answer Christoph.

If you are working on a presentation, could we perhaps organise some
kind of "Maketing repository" where a collection of LibO marketing tool

(such as your presentation) could be kept focussed primarily for
marketing purposes? Did this exist with the OpenOffice marketing group?
Yes, we can have a page on the wiki, but we should set clear rules for
describing documents and defining obsolescence (which might be quick in
this market). We could also create an area in a document sharing web
site like SlideShare, Scribd or Issuu, or do both.

This is a question about 10th anniversary of the OpenOffice.org
community. Is there a plan to release an announcement on October 13th?
There is a more basic question involved. Do we want to start from
scratch with LibO or to claim the continuity as OpenOffice.org community
at large?
From a marketing point of view and taking the "We are the community"
quote into practice I believe it would be good to celebrate the
anniversary with an announcement, put some party logo to the webpage and
Facebook fan page and also link to any material that may be posted to
OpenOffice.org main web site.
On the other hand there are people far more experience in marketing
leading the foundation and LibO at the moment, so I would like to
present this just as an idea for discussion.

Thanks Italo.
I think the point that has been driven home to all of us is that LibO is
a
continuation of the project. The name is the only difference. We should
organize on online splash for the event. Should we ask if there could be
some kind of birthday clipart showing on the front page of the
DocumentFoundation website. I know they are busy, but maybe take a moment
to
celebrate and validate the 10 year existence of the group? Maybe a
communiqué from Italo in the name of the project?
Cheers
