Hello all,

It seems this is still the case, i.e. the UI master glossary is active on UI master and Help master, but not in the projects for specific versions (26.2 etc.). Is it planned to be activated sometime or should I just tell the translators to just use the master projects?

Thanks,
Tuomas

The Glossary list of Weblate can be a great tool: Adding terms to the glossary helps making consistent translations, both among translators and for a given translator (such as myself) over time.

However, the glossary seems to be only effective for the master version. For both LibreOffice UI and LibreOffice Help: If I look up a string in a non-master version, e.g. in version 24.8, then the window "Glossary" is seen on the screen, but not glossaries are shown, even if it string contains terms that had glossary defined as master. There is not even a button to add terms.

UI strings and Help strings are inherited across versions: If a string is translated in any version, it is automatically also applied to other versions (earlier or later) that use the same specific string.

So is there a reason why only master can see the glossary for master? And is there a reason why it does not seem to be possible to add glossary in earlier versions than master? If this on purpose as a useful feature (rather than being a bug) of Weblate, please educate me on its why and how!

Of course, for those languages who have everything translated already at "master" state, it is not a problem - all translation will take place in the master version. But not all translation projects are at that state. If versions in use (currently, 24.2 and 24.8) are not yet fully translated, it will make sense to prioritize strings from these versions over those strings only present in the upcoming versions (master).

Regards,
Lars
