Thanks for your reply.

The problem is that you have moved to a new platform with out it being set up properly and proper testing. Saying things like 'Not an easy one at the moment, we are working to provide a solution' and '...we are also working on adding...' shows a lack of consideration for your translators who contribute freely of their precious time. Why not ask a small group of translators to get involved in developing a new platform, whilst the rest continue until it's bullet-proof?

I know Pootle is not being supported, I had a chat with one of the ex-devs recently, but it's not broken, LibreOffice Weblate as is is not fit for purpose, it may never be, it was not set up for a large project like LO.

Have you considered Mozilla's Pontoon? LO's senario is similar to Mozilla's with Pootle's demise. It's a large scale +100 language translation tool using .po files, that may fit better than Weblate.

Weblate UI translation ( https://hosted.weblate.org/translate/weblate/master/cy/?type=todo&offset=10#machine ) includes machine translation by Google and Microsoft. Are these going to be included? They work well for Welsh. Something was appearing at times under the Machine Translation tab, whilst I worked on the strings. I though it was the delay. I'd translated the string by the time the response appeared.

I notice that there are new strings on Pootle LibreOffice 6.3 - UI - (https://translations.documentfoundation.org/cy/) are these the new strings in Weblate or are they different?

Are we still using Pootle?

Is there a way to download and upload the complete set of  po files in

Not an easy one at the moment, we are working to provide a solution
I've been doing some translation in Weblate and it's not working for me.
No translation memory, machine translation is slow or non existent, grey
print that does my glaucoma no good... I did not expect to be
retranslating common words in a project of this size and age. Saving
each string takes about 5 - 25 seconds.
So I'll sort your request one by one:
- translation memory: we are also working on adding Amagama
(https://github.com/translate/amagama), Christian is on it, to solve
this problem
- what do you mean by machine translation, you mean propagation of same
translations?
- could you let me know exactly where is the grey print?
- saving should not take you so long, from the feedback we had, it was
when going backward.
Pootle was better than this.  Why put us through this?
Because as I wrote already Pootle is not maintained any more, we have to
find a replacement for it. We are still in adjustment period trying to
find the best solutions for all of us. I'll post another mail with the
actual status on where we stand, please read it.

Cheers
Sophie
