Hm ok. Anyway, coming back to the original question, IS there a way of
getting usage data?

Wait for the next release?? Releases come on a monthly basis.:) Not a
long time to wait. Anyway, one need not use bundled dictionaries,
dictionaries can be uninstalled. Then one can use a dictionary
extension installed with the Extension Manager, and that is
updateable.
