Hello Lionel, Robert and Alex,
I didn't reproduce the pb of
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122779 "(FILEOPEN
(BASE) Connection to Oracle DB via ODBC ends in [ODBC][ORACLE] Optional
Feature not implemented)"
but had a segfault when closing table.
Trying to take a look at this, I noticed that there were several ODBC
versions and that some functions were deprecated in ODBC 3.X, see
https://docs.microsoft.com/fr-fr/SQL/odbc/reference/appendixes/mapping-deprecated-functions?view=sql-server-2017
According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Database_Connectivity,
ODBC 3.0 has been released in 1995.
Would you be ok to remove and replace deprecated functions from ODBC <
3.0 or do you think about some cons?
The goal would be to make some cleaning about ODBC function calls in LO,
it may make LO more robust.
Any specific thoughts about ODBC?
Remark : I don't say I'd be able to do it but thought that a bugtracker
about it could be relevant.
Regards,
Julien Nabet
PS : I put LO Dev forum in cc so the information is spread directly.
