When I try 'git commit -a' prior to submitting to gerrit the SAL_DEBUG
lines make git cancel the commit.
You can use 'git commit --no-verify -a' to avoid the git hooks; but
please use with care obviously - people will be angry if/when that gets
to the production code ;-)
