2015-11-08 23:24 GMT-06:00 Khaled Hosny <khaledhosny@eglug.org>:
Is this true, I always had font fallback on LibreOffice UI (on Linux at
least), even my main UI font does not support Latin at all but otherwise
the UI shows English text just fine.

I’ve always had this problem in Ubuntu. My most recent attestation of
the problem was when I triaged this bug:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94476

I’ve followed the reporter’s steps (in Spanish) and could confirm his
findings. Here’s a screenshot I took:

I have the same problem with the Unicode characters of AutoCorrect
files. A UI font does not usually contain arrows and emoji, so they
show up for me as squares as well, both in Ubuntu and Windows.
